Start Date: 09/30/04; End Date: 12/02/04

Description
This Seminar introduces students to the origins and policies of sustainable development. *This seminar is being organized in conjunction with the UCSD Convocation 2004-05 speaker series featuring Dr. Gro Harlem Brundtland (Former Norwegian Prime Minister, Director-Emeritus of the World Health Organization, and Former Chair of the World Commission on Environment and Development). Dr. Brundtland's talk will take place on Wednesday, October 27, 2004, in the Price Center Theater, at 7:00pm ( http://helenedison.ucsd.edu).

This is a one-unit seminar; thus there will be no exams. Grading will be assigned on a pass/ no pass basis. Attendance and in-class participation are the main criteria for grading. If you need to miss a class, let the instructor know. Come to the sessions prepared to discuss the issues.
