WHAT IS A BLOG?

BLOG is shorthand for weblog. Apparently the term "blog" was the most searched for definition on the Merriam-Webster.com's during the year 2004. You can read an article about this by clicking here.

Blogs are a new communications medium designed to capture and archive thematically organized conversations. These conversations include posts (topics for discussion) and comments on posts from multiple participants over days, weeks and even months. Blogs are used for creating, sharing, and storing cutting-edge conversations, including insights, links, key literature, calls for action, ideas for research, etc.
