September 21, 2006 Class Presentation.

During the first class you will be expected to fill out a short (1) internship application form.

Students need to visit the USP office, SSB 315, between 9:00am to 12:00noon, and 1:30pm to 3:30pm beginning as early September 22nd for an internship interview to begin the internship placement process. Before the interview you need to prepare a résumé, and bring it with you to the interview. During your interview you can review the USP placement listings and select an internship.

The next step is to write your cover letter and mail it with your résumé to the internship supervisor at the internship you selected. You are expected to phone and schedule an interview for yourself with the internship supervisor. If you call and leave a message but do not receive a call back then call again and leave another message.

Once you have scheduled an interview then during the interview, if all goes well, you can have your internship supervisor fill out and sign the internship contract.

If you have independently arranged an internship you must still check in with Valorie to give her your (2) résumé for your USP student file, and confirm your internship. An internship (3) contract must be signed by you and your internship supervisor then turned in to the USP office.

November 2, 2006 Contract is due

After your contract is turned in Professor Pezzoli will read each one and sign it to complete the contract agreement. The contract is a formal agreement that specifies the job description and responsibilities between you, your internship supervisor, and Professor Keith Pezzoli.

November 30, 2006 Progress Report is due (or as soon as you complete 50 hours of internship work)
(4) USP Internship STUDENT’S Progress Report ( to be completed by the student )

March 15, 2006 Final Evaluation is due (or as soon as you complete 100 hours of an internship)
(5) USP Internship STUDENT’S Final Evaluation
(to be completed by the student)

All the above forms are to be turned in to Valorie Bruce in the USP office, SSB 315, except the application is turned in during the first class meeting.
