  ACSP Planning Globally Taskforce Curriculum Sub-Committee meeting, held April 26-27, 2002 at MIT.

9:30 - 10:45 Review of Wim Wiewel's terms of Reference for the sub-committee
on curriculum. Discussion to be lead by Ruth Yabes and Bish Sanyal
Aim: reach an agreement on the following questions:
1. Since internationalization of planning education is not a new issue (in fact, it has been on ACSP's agenda since the early 1980s),what is the current concern after September 11, 2001, which prompted Wim to create the task force?
2. To address the concern, who should we be educating? International students in U.S. planning schools? Domestic students in U.S. planning schools? Planning students around the world, including in European and developing countries?

Discussion of paper by Amartya Sen on "How to Judge Globalism"2:00 - 3:30 The status of U.S. planning education regarding international issues.
Summary of Report by Keith Pezzoli and Deborah Howe (identify what is that U.S. planning programs are doing well, and what are the major gaps - particularly, if we are to respond well to Wim's concerns.)
